Jon's Vegetable Bed Project

Jon from Buckinghamshire has used sleepers to make a small vegetable area in his garden. The four rectangular beds were constructed from 2.4M 100x200mm new softwood sleepers which were stained green to match the garden furniture and summer house. The internal face and the underside of the frames were lined with membrane. The beds were surrounded on three sides by 450mm wide paths of dark stained wood chippings and a small area of York stone paving at one end.
